La Rollerie; Not Just Cinnamon Rolls!

La Rollerie, what a pleasant surprise! We ended up to this cute place perhaps a bit by accident, because the place we were on our way was closed that morning. Don’t get me wrong, La Rollerie was and still is on our “list” (yes, we have a long list of cafes, restaurants, gelaterias, juice bars, etc. of which we want to stop by), but it wasn’t planned on that very day. Anyway, I was very happy that we were able finally to try this place!

La Rollerie describes itself as a place that is a world of artisan products made with care and quality. The food they serve is a mixture of American, Spanish, Contemporary, Mediterranean and European cuisine, so I’m sure that even a pickiest eater will find a desired portion from there. They have three places in Madrid (Atocha 20 20218, Guzmán el Bueno 105, 28003 and Calle Mayor 24 28013) and one in Valencia (Convento de Santa Clara 7 esquina Ribera, 46002).

We visited the one in Calle Mayor and it absolutely stole my heart! So welcoming and super cute place, and friendly and accommodating staff <3 .

The part that surprised me was the great selection on the menu. Even though they advertise themselves as a bakery cafe where you can get freshly baked breads, pastries and croissants every day, they had for example a large selection of fresh salads, tapas type foods, smoothies, yogurt with fruits and perfect pancakes. We tried this time that yogurt bowl, their cinnamon roll and pancakes, and gosh they were divine! So fresh and tasty bowl of seasonal fruits and granola, and that warm cinnamon bun! Definitely a reason to return there!

La Rollerie is not only a breakfast place as it offers also brunch, lunch, dinner and late night snacks. They have a perfect opening hours for such early birds like we are as they’ll open already at 8am every day. La Rollerie is also suitable for families offering highchairs and children’s menu. I will for sure go back there to try other breakfast options, and their salad and other lunch portions didn’t sound too bad at all!
