Nutella lovers hands up! This Nutella Smoothie recipe is just what you need. I’ve always been kind of crazy about all kind of smoothies and shakes, and haven’t said no to Nutella like never. Although I’ve always loved a chocolaty milkshake loaded with delicious ice cream, I don’t have them very often for obvious reasons. But now I have found the perfect solution for this problem!
Even though this smoothie doesn’t contain the real stuff, that creamy and chocolaty original Nutella, you don’t need to worry. It still has the sweetness, but from banana and dates, the chocolate flavor from the cocoa and the nutty creaminess comes from hazelnuts. And in addition to the fact, that this delicious smoothie beats certainly your sweet cravings, it is also a real health bomb! Just to mention few of them, raw cocoa powder in it, is full of antioxidants, can provide antidepressant benefits, and it can also lower blood pressure. Hazelnuts, in turn, are also a good way to add some healthy fats to your diet and they are high in vitamin E too.
Ingredients for one serving:
1 big, ripe banana
handful of hazelnuts
handful of oats
few pitted dates (I prefer Medjool dates)
raw cacao powder
handful of ice cubes
almond milk or hazelnut milk (the amount depends on how thick you want your smoothie to be, maybe 50-150ml)
• chocolate, caramel or vanilla flavored protein powder for some extra protein.
• Some toppings, like granola, nuts, berries, chocolate chips, etc., if you make smoothie bowl.
Put all the ingredients into a blender and let it run until the mixture is smooth. Add the milk of your choice that much, until you’ll reach the thickness you want. I like to have mine as thick as possible, and top it with all yummy things like granola, and enjoy it with a spoon like a dessert. If the smoothie is too thick for your taste, you can always add a little more milk. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
