Last Trip of Summer 2018: Torrox-Costa and Nerja
What can I say; This summer 2018 was full of wonderful shorter and longer trips, and this last one to Torrox-Costa and Nerja was no exception. It was an easy choice as we moved from Nerja to Madrid five months ago and it was nice to end this summer in some really meaningful and lovely place. Also, how easy it’s to spend your holiday in a place that you know like the back of one’s hand! No wasting time looking for good restaurants, grocery stores or best beaches and playgrounds, we already have our favorite ones.
We stayed at Olée Nerja Holiday Rentals by Fuerte Group (that used to be Fuerte Calaceite. Click this link for more information.) at Torrox-Costa, which is only 5 minutes from Nerja and Torrox. We ended up choosing this apartment as we were already familiar with it from our previous visit couple years ago and they sent a reasonable offer just in a right time. The apartment which we had was like a copy of the previous one; two bedrooms, spacious living room, fully equipped kitchen (with dishwasher, washing machine and dryer), two bathrooms and large terrace with a sea view. Which I btw LOVE! Everything really beautifully and Scandinavian way decorated.
The apartments also have outdoor swimming-pools, sunbathing area with sun-loungers and sunshades, and beach is just across the street.
Our days were filled with sun, swimming, good food, playground visits, long day walks in our old neighbourhoods and just enjoyment of being back in Nerja. It was fun to see how also our son was super excited about strolling around in Nerja and visiting the places knew. Burriana beach was a-must-visit- place for him, so we spent couple of days there and one morning at the Vilches beach, that was almost empty the whole morning. Like a private beach just for us!
If I had to name one highlight of this vacation, I would choose breakfast at hotel Parador de Nerja. Their breakfast is for sure the best in Nerja (Attention all the hotel breakfast lovers!) and you don’t have to stay at the hotel to get to enjoy it. Everything is super fresh and perfectly done, and the variety of foods in buffet is huge, so everybody will find there their own favorites. Now they even have a chef who makes omelettes etc. according to your wishes. And not to mention the view you have directly from the restaurant’s terrace! It’s absolutely stunning and breath-taking as you can see from the photos ❤️. This was a-must-visit-place for me.
So, in summary this trip was a perfect closure for this summer. No rush, no any special plans, just a lot of quality time as a family in a place that we still love really much. Now back to reality and that normal everyday life in Madrid, until it’s time to pack our bags again!
Ps. Just letting you know, that Torrox-Costa has been told to be the best holiday destination for any time of year. A scientific study has shown that this municipality of Malaga has Europe’s best climate. Its geographical location, (it’s in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea and the Sierras de Tejada and Almijara), means that the temperatures here are mild both in summer and winter ?.
