Silky Apple Pie Smoothie

For a while ago I shared The Best Healthy Apple Pie Ever recipe with you, and because you loved it so much, I decided to continue with the apple pie theme. Because, who doesn’t like apple pie and all the variations of it <3 .

 

 This delicious smoothie is super easy to prepare, and it doesn’t require any nutritional supplements, but if you want it to contain more protein, please add one scoop of protein powder, that suits into your diet. Also, if dairy products aren’t a problem for you, you can add some quark in there too.

 

 
Ingredients:
2 dl of plant based milk (almond or oat milk are my favorite)
0.5 dl rolled oats or barley flakes (use gluten free if needed)
1 tbsp chia seeds
a touch of vanilla powder
1 small apple or 1 dl sugar-apple jam/ puree
1 tsp cinnamon
2 Medjool dates, pitted
(some ice cubes and, if necessary, add milk / water if smoothie becomes too thick)
(1 scoop of vanilla protein powder)

Instructions:
• Mix the oats and chia seeds with milk and let the mixture sit in the fridge for a few hours or overnight. Usually I mix it in the evening so it’s ready to use when it’s my morning smoothie time 😉 .
• Put all the remaining ingredients in a blender and let it run until silky smooth. At this point add the protein powder, if you want to use it. Add some ice cubes, water or milk if necessary.
• Enjoy immediately!
