Iced Coffee Protein Smoothie
If coffee and smoothies are your morning staples you simply can’t live without, you’ll love this recipe! It’s a cool way to enjoy your cup of coffee on a hot day while also getting healthy fats and fiber to keep you full for hours. And yes, it’s loaded with protein and tastes like melted coffee ice cream <3 . Sounds almost too good to be true, doesn't it?
One more thing before you start. Make the coffee the night before because you will need to cool it well before use. Of course, if you have some leftover coffee from breakfast, it’s a perfect excuse to have this smoothie as a healthy afternoon snack ;).
2.4dl (1cup) black coffee, cooled in the fridge
25 g vanilla protein powder
1 frozen banana (cut in pieces before freezing)
1 tablespoon flaxseeds meal
1.2dl (1/2 cup) unsweetened almond milk
3 ice cubes (3 more optional)
• Add all the ingredients to a blender, saving three of the ice cubes.
• Puree until smooth and airy. Add in the last three ice cubes (if you choose) and enjoy!
